George ‘Effin Will

Galley Friend J.P. dips into the archives for a George F. Will column from 2005 in which he deals with Jimmy Carter and, well . . . if you have young children present you may want to send them to another room before clicking on the link.

Oh to be from North Jersey and having attended Pingry and Princeton have the eyes to view that milquetoast offing as a stern rebuke.

Life is too short to be little. Man is never so manly as when he feels deeply, acts boldly, and expresses himself with frankness and with fervor.

    -Benjamin Disraeli

George Will would do himself some good to take Mr. Disraeli’s advice. So would 99% of the “conservative” punditocracy.

I don’t see what Pingry has to do with anything.

Maybe it’s like the (lousy) movie of Primary Colors, in which the Billy Bob Thornton character (played by James Carville) keeps calling the young British guy, who’s I gather meant to be like a black Stephanopoulos, “Hotchkiss” derisively; and after the 3rd or 4th time of hearing this clunker you think to yourself, “I bet that sounded wittier in the read-through.”
