You’d expect racism is Wildwood Crest, but in Wildwood? Someone posted a sign on a parking lot saying “Whites Only.” (This is not the lot’s policy–it’s vandalism.) Terrible, awful, deplorable, etc.
Still, the Mayor of Wildwood sounds like he’s suffering an attack of the vapors:
Police took down the sign immediately and stored it as evidence. Mayor Ernie Troiano apologized for the sign on behalf of the city.
“It’s the worst thing anybody can do to anybody,” says Troiano.
Mayor Troiano can’t think of anything worse?
-
I know what’s worse:
Whites only, and particularly no crippled retards.
That is Shalala’s ninth circle of speech code-violation hell. I’m already there for even thinking, much less typing, this joke. First up for me for the rest of eternity is about 2,300 years of the clockwork orange theater treatment…endless loops of Naomi wolf speeches from cspan while deepak chopra constantly whispers in my ear as he administers eye drops.
-
I was terribly offended and disgusted by the sign, the act of putting it up, and whoever did it until I read the full reaction of the mayor. Then I realized this is quite likely a fairly funny and revealing gag by some ignorant but clever young punks that struck its overwrought mark dead-center. Bulls-eye comedy.
Of course, if it were my case, as a hard-boiled, paranoid detective, the mayor’s bizarre statements would make me look at him first as suspect numero uno. Is it an election year or something? Does he need some outrageous distraction to give lofty spirited speeches of indignity. I’m just saying – look at who’s trying to cash in here and start there, in his circle of reelection operatives. -
Did you mean to say “IN Wildwood Crest”? And where is Wildwood Crest — a suburb of Philly?

I think he meant to say, “It’s *literally* the worst thing anybody can do to anybody.”
