And this is why it would be helpful for any of you who’ve read the book to post a review:

3.0 out of 5 stars Watered Down Buchanan? February 1, 2013

By Brent F.
Format:Hardcover
Based on the reviews for this book that have come out thus far, it seems what we should basically expect is Buchanan’s “Death of the West” watered down and made more palatable for Weekly Standard neocons addicted to 3rd world cheap labor. Buchanan was writing about this problem a decade ago and is a more authoritative source for serious conservatives.
And feel free to engage in review comments where it’s clear that the reviewer didn’t, you know, read the book.

Not for nothing, but I think it’s a shame when people recycle other’s material and pass it off as their own. Buchanan, Steyn, et al. have been banging away at the demographic drum for some time. I think the premise of the book is lame.

That said, there are few “conservative” writers who actually write novel tomes with themes that are influential, and rightly so. I’m thinking of “Liberal Fascism” by Jonah Goldberg. Unfortunately he followed it up with the awful redundant thesis of “Tyranny of Cliches.”

    Anything to make a buck.

Not for nothing, but how do you talk with that giant cock in your mouth all the time?

Ah-h-h, Joe S appears to have slunk over here from Amazon after his non-review was scrubbed. And, the wit intact.

I think it’s a shame when people have nothing better to do with their time or their lives than write ugly graffiti on someone’s website.

Speaking for myself, I no longer consider reader/customer reviews to be of much value and I usually ignore them. It seems that when I actually start reading through I find too many to be of the “This looks great!” or “This looks terrible!” variety. Even among those written by actual product owners, many reflect the buyer’s ridiculously high or low expectations. I doubt our kids’ generation will pay any attention to them at all. Joe Sixpack up there can do something useful and hasten the decline.

At least he gave you 3 stars! (His review mysteriously disappeared.)
