Parody?
March 1st, 2013

I didn’t go to Harvard, so I can’t tell if this unsigned Crimson editorial is a tongue-in-cheek parody, or kind of serious. It has to be a joke, right?

Any Harvard-educated readers–please shed some light.

Princeton and Yale should put this article up on their admissions pages.

As with almost everything written by any Harvard undergraduate for any purpose, including term papers, it’s a poor attempt at arch satire barely concealing a deeply held primal desire for attention and fear of rejection.

You can trust me on that: I’m very smart, but in a contrived self-effacing way that I think makes me likeable.

“You see, lately, there seems to be a pernicious trend of public figures—especially those on the right—falling in love with Harvard just long enough to benefit from its educational resources and, yes, its social prestige, before turning against our school.”

    LOL, “turning against our school”

    he he he he

Like no one can ever criticize anyone from their alma mater, oh wait, the author’s entire piece criticizes alumni.

I only went to fake Harvard so take this for what it’s worth—it sounds uncomfortably non-satirical.
