America’s One-Child Policy
January 24th, 2011

Quick update on my numerology-like obsession continuing interest in demographics, fertility rates, and population. I’m writing a book-length version of America’s One-Child Policy for Encounter, so I’ll probably be sprinkling in some demography posts among the Dark Knight Rises stuff during the next year. I mention this only as a way of soliciting string from you. If you see interesting news/books/journal articles on the subject, please send them along.

Thanks in advance.

Will look forward to buying a copy when it comes out. I’m enjoying the encounter series a lot. Currently working my way through Culture Counts: Faith and Feeling in a World Besieged by Roger Scruton. Might be interested to see if there is any relation to decline in population tied with decline in religious belief and practice.

    Very, very exciting.

I know your focus will be America, but it can’t hurt during your research to check out Sarrazin’s book on Germany’s population/Islam problem. Also, I found this relatively recent story about birthrates fascinating:

I should pass it along to our “Price of Everything” guy as it is hard to explain the demographic boom in Georgia based solely on prices…
