This tickles every little speechwriter bone in my body. Completely awesome.

    “STEVE JOBS!” is the best.

“Use many good sayings for succeed.” 🙂 This whole thing is hilarious — the “Steve Jobs” joke, “EMPATHY ACHIEVED!” “HONOR MIDDLE CLASS — GET DOLLAR!” (The whole homage to 8-bit Nintendo games is brilliant … ah, childhood memories.)

But G. W., as persons who have written speeches for a living, shouldn’t we be a little ashamed that the convention speeches of our two *presidential nominees* are full of such identical banalities that this video is even possible? (“Engine of growth” etc.) Sigh…

One of the many reasons–my temperament aside–why I would not want to be nor survive as a strictly political speechwriter.

Hmm, weren’t we promised a few weeks ago further reflections on The Dark Knight Rises? Or was it already posted and I missed it?

That’s right, but that slacker JVL hasn’t posted it yet. “It’s the post we deserve, but not the one we need right now.” 😉

Proving that speechwriters can incorporate retarded focus group catchphrases just as clunkily for both parties.
