There’s a lot to chew on here.
The first thing that jumps out at me is that (a) Anne Hathaway has a nicely delivered monologue and (b) If what she’s saying is any indication, there’s an Occupy Wall Street-ish kind of aspect to DKR, with Nolan not necessarily on the side of the OWSers.
The second is that Nolan seems to want DKR to be, like TDK, a movie of ideas. Which is pretty grand.
I’m going to have to watch it a few more times to really grok the rest.
PS: Since I’m basically switching to Dark Knight Rises blogging from here until July 2012, here’s Santino–he’s back!–writing with some worries about the 6 minute prologue running in from of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.

Whelmed.

Eh…
The teaser and now the first trailer don’t look all that appealing to me. Maybe because I have no connection with Bane.
Anne Hathaway is the best part of the trailer, to me. She actually sounds menacing.
Haven’t seen the prologue yet.

Anyone have a link where the prologue is still up and running? Haven’t seen it yet but very interested…July is a long way off…

Dustin Rowles, over at Pajiba, is excited about the OWS angle: “It is goddamn splendid, and actually my favorite part of the trailer is Anne Hathaway’s Catwoman and the 1 percent plotline she seems to be developing (timely!).”
It’s hard to tell from the trailer, but I incline to your view – seems likely to me that Nolan won’t, at the very least, take a simplistic cheerleading view toward OWS.
Some of the fan boys just don’t see/hear what they don’t want to.
