I always thought Russell Brand was pretty funny. But not this funny. MSNBC has now justified the entire network’s existence with this guest spot.

Best cable news segment ever I’m Ron Burgundy?

No, really: “Thank you for your casual objectification.”

Who’s worse: the featured dipstick guest, or the dipstick that booked him and handed him a live mic?

Brand is a human feather down the throat. Here’s hoping that when he gets to Abu Dhabi, he includes Mohammed in his discussion of messiahs.

As neither a fan of Mt Brand (never really seen him before) or of Morning Joe (which I have seen) I’m not sure if he is the master of his audience or if Mika is terrible at handling hers. He took that over with little effort, enabled by the bizarre “open” staging. I think msnbc is probably not aware how neatly their presentation was skewered by a man who had no respect for their pose.
