‘Interstellar’ Thoughts
November 20th, 2014

I have several of them, but I can’t really figure out how to talk about the movie without spoilers. So I’m going to wait a couple weeks.

But in the meantime: I can’t be the only one who wants a T.A.R.S. action figure for my desk, can I? Whatever else you want to say about Interstellar, I think TARS is easily the best robot in the history of cinema.

I don’t think there’s room on your desk, honey, what with the Lego Batmobile and Buffy action figures.

    Sonny,

I have to admit I liked CASE quite a bit, although of course TARS was amazing and one of the greatest cinematic robots ever created.

I just came back from my first viewing — I’ll need to see it again (of course) in IMAX. I actually went opening weekend to a real IMAX around me, 11:00 AM show. The theater was packed. Movie starts and there is no sound — eventually the film stops and the theater has to offer everyone refunds because they can’t get the sound to work. Makes me never want to set foot in that theater again.

I don’t want a TARS action figure. I want a TARS. Like, now.
