You were all very helpful with my wifi vs. 4G question last week. So now that I have this thing–any guidance on cases? Are the Apple Smart Covers good? Anyone have a case with a built-in keyboard they like?
Maybe most importantly, anyone with kids have a case they think is particularly sturdy in terms of drops?

Wait, what?

I have two, with the leather covers that look like a leather binder. They are great for propping themselves up on a table for viewing.
Also, get the clear cover guards for the screen. While they don’t provide water proofing, they do keep it at least scratch free.

I’m partial to Dodocase:
It’s quite sturdy and has a nice feel. And, yes, it might be the most Bobo-ish item you can buy right now.

“Anyone have a case with a built-in keyboard they like?”
You know what would be even cooler is if the built-in keyboard could close up to protect the screen from scratches. And the keyboard could serve as a base so that the screen could be stably positioned at a convenient angle for reading without having to hold the screen with your hands.

Zagg makes nifty cases/bluetooth keyboard combos that everyone in my office seems to love. I use the device as intended, as a tablet.

We’ve been happy with this for when my daughter uses it

I’d put it in the gun safe when not in use. Alternately, you can tell them it’s broccoli and is good for them.

I have a blue Apple Smart Cover that I never used with my iPad 2 if you want it. You’re welcome to it. (this is your neighbor, Rob)
Definitely get at least a screen cover. I didn’t and have a 2 inch scratch in the glass now. This case has been pretty solid for us:

Late to the game here but, if you don’t mind slight bulkiness…Otterbox. It’ll make your iPad look a little bit like Darth Vader.

Imagine a Sunday school class for kids with autism of various degrees. They have ipads. The ipads have otterbox cases. The ipads are fine. Win.
