It Happened Again–Updated
May 13th, 2014

Umm, yeah. Remember this? Well, it happened again. And it’s even worse. Link to follow tomorrow morning.

Update: So here it is. Is doing a deep-dive reconstruction of Frozen worse than doing it for Star Wars? Who can say.

Haven’t seen the movie, so I’m afraid I just can’t bring myself to read this one, JVL. But I applaud your ability to take your kid-induced one-film obsession and use it to churn out copy for your day gig. You are a true pro! (I say this with all respect and not a trace of sarcasm.)
But c’mon, we need your take on the first glimpse of the Batfleck! (Some of these are pretty damn funny: http://www.slashfilm.com/ben-affleck-sad-batman-meme/ )

So what I really want to know is where you stand on the issue of Oaken’s “gay family”?

P.S. You are a mad genius.

P.P.S. I loved the little piece on the latte machine and Illy coffee grounds. Your under-the-radar pieces are always excellent!

So I’ve decided this is the place on the internet where all insane Frozen theories must be aired:

A follow-up post is expected in which you respond to the many competing ‘narratives’ that are out there.

Did you really try to claim that Frozen is the best animated movie of all time–hands down, no less? Well, I’m raising my hand. Look, it’s a good movie. But it’s in the running for the most overrated animated movie of all time. There are at least a dozen better movies just from Disney/Pixar (off the top of my head, there’s–no particular order–Robin Hood, The Sword and the Stone, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Hercules, Mulan, Aladdin, Toy Story, Monsters Inc., Up, Wreck-It-Ralph, etc.). Again, good movie. But anyone who thinks it’s the best animated movie of all time (I imagine this is the same group who asininely thinks that LeBron James is a better basketball player than Michael Jordan) should be institutionalized.
