Should be noted that Kirby wrote an absolutely wrong-headed book on mercury in vaccines a few years back, so grain of salt.

I thought the most surprisingly conservative element of the 2nd one was Heath Ledger’s ever-shifting explanation of his scars; it’s rare when a sociology-minded movie takes the premise that evil people don’t need a reason to be evil.
Haven’t seen the newest one but am reluctant to buy into this analysis of Bane as a Lenin figure. It sounds kind of like a forced reading. However, the movie Bane does seem more interesting than the print version
