Duran Duran was the Beatles of the 80s is a pretty absurd statement on its face. I was buying a lot of records throughout the 80s, and had a friend who managed a record store, and DD was never even on our screens. They were for 12 year old girls and they wore out their welcome pretty fast. What next? Are you going to say A Flock of Seagulls was the Rolling Stones?
