Why is this interesting? A pile of Galley Slaves’ merchandise for the reader who can tell me from which obscure superheroine’s costume this swimsuit is nearly exactly cribbed.
Update, 12:17 p.m.: Wow. It took less than two hours and we have a winner. Carole Lee Sussman has correctly identified the Victoria’s Secret swimsuit as a knock-off of Phantom Lady. Now I just have to come up with some GS merchandise . . .

David Adesnik has nice bit on a recent exchange between a liberal mainstream reporter and a liberal opinion writer (who will almost certainly join the mainstream media establishment some day soon).
This little anecdote illustrates perfectly the left’s dilemma with how they engage the media. They want to be able to cry bias, just like conservatives do. The problem is, they agree with most mainstream media opinion. The conservative argument is: You liberal media elites present a view of the world which directly opposes ours. The liberal argument is: You media elites refuse to go far enough in exposing the lies of the right. That’s a tough sell.

Dean Barnett had a fantastic piece yesterday on the Boston Globe‘s Mormon baiting/moral preening. Don’t miss it.
Also on the Romney beat, Brian McGrory has a good column today on whether or not Romney will seek reelection in 2006. His piece is marred only by this nonsense: “[Romney’s advisers] also point out that Howard Dean nearly won the Democratic nomination as a former governor and that Jimmy Carter, not to mention Ronald Reagan, captured the White House while campaigning as former, rather than current governors.”
Howard Dean nearly won the Democratic nomination last year? Yes, Dean was the absolute front-runner until Democrats started voting. Then he was revealed as the distant third/close fourth choice even among Democratic voters. Please, let’s not get caught up in Dean-mania, again.

Any revelations stemming from historian Joachim Fest’s book, Hitler’s Bunker: The Last Days of the Third Reich, this one anecdote from a secretary seems most bizarre: Hitler “would lie there, completely apathetic, thinking only of … chocolate and cake. His craving for cake had become pathological. Before, he used to eat three pieces of cake at most, but now he had them fill his plate to overflowing three times.”
As I’ve argued before, vegetarian lifestyles aren’t always the healthiest…

Being a father changes a man, even a young man. If I’m more defensive of what is said about women these days, you can mark it up to changing diapers. Not that I have it as hard as this brave young man (not even close!), but certainly my perspective has been altered.
