President Zero

With Pawlenty out of the race, Michael Bay has put his considerable talents behind Rick Perry. But it’s better than you think. The killer? The jump cut with the line “I’m just gettin’ started.” Ouch.

    Dear Mr. Baiano,
Probably not a good idea to use an audio transition edit when your candidate sounds exactly like a man who left office with an approval rating of 35%. Other than that, stay awesome.

Looks more like it was edited by Michael Ebay.

    Gabriel,

There is no avoiding the comparisons to W, but at this point, who cares? Perry can and will run as his own man and the people who are freaked out at his drawl wouldn’t vote for Romney anyway.

Meanwhile, after watching that campaign commercial, not only am I ready to volunteer and send money to the Perry campaign, I’m ready to kill some alien robots and build an oil pipeline from the Canadian tar sands to the Gulf of Mexico tomorrow…

    FH,

When I heard his voice without video I honestly thought “Why is W talking in this Perry commercial?” When I see Perry I think of him as his own man and for what it’s worth I like Texans, drawls and all, but damn if he doesn’t sound exactly like W.

Agreed though that commercial makes me want to accompany the governor on a mission to blow up an asteroid as Liv Tyler stands crying in the hangar.

I understand your point about the voice now. On multiple viewings (there have been many) I think you have a good point.

Meanwhile, the rest of your reply is spot on.

I’m sure that all the conservatives who threw a fit over then-Sen. Obama’s presumptuous decision to adorn his jet seat with “Obama/President” in 2008 will throw a similar fit over the “Perry/President” line at the end of this ad.

    What arrogance!

    Intrade Link

Slightly off topic from the Romney advert, but President Zero has settled below the 50% likelihood threshhold on the Intrade market. He’s officially an underdog. The Internet has proven it.
