Thanks, Blogosphere

A few years ago I was optimistically apprehensive about Jeffrey Goldberg, one of the great reporters and writers of our day, joining the blogosphere. Optimistic because more Goldberg is better. Nervous because if you spend enough time blogging, eventually always leads to something like this.

I think you are too generous in your praise of Goldberg’s work, but I tend to think of his through his blogging work, which I think has become more and more conventially liberal. For example, calmly linking to Andrew who says “the leader of the GOP is a delusional maniac” (referring to Boehner?) is not my idea of anyone’s great writer, bad blog post or not.

Plus, when it comes to Israel, despite his service in the IDF, I still think he’s way to soft for my tastes:

I was rather disappointed that he doesn’t come out and say directly if Mrs. Goldberg belongs in the “frozen chosen” or the “sultry” category. The readers have a right to know!
