I love this–love this–but then, I would. It’s even more convincing than my old “Case for the Empire”:

It’s funny, but come on. They completely missed the boat on River’s behavior. She didn’t get schizo or whatever she is until AFTER the Alliance messed with her brain – “stripped her amgydala,” which I’m sure is a thing. We are to understand that she was young, normal, average genius before their “experiments.”

I thought the Alliance is supposed to be more like the United Federation of Planets, not so much evil as antiseptic and sexless, unless you count the gross Riker kind. (Also sometimes evil, w/r/t/ River.) That makes our heroes the bad boys in both senses of the term.

Also, the Lost Cause element of the Browncoats isn’t nearly so hidden as this video would suggest. You can’t take the sky from me, Cracked.
