Mickey Kaus has an instant classic with suggested slogans for Chevy (to replace the hideous new “Runs Deep”). Highlights:

Chevy: You Already Bought It!

Chevy: Lean Forward

Chevy: We Killed Saturn. Don’t Mess With Us, OK?

Chevy: Still Too Big to Fail. But Getting Smaller!

GM is notorious for many awful things, including the new Chevy slogan.

Every week on Top Chef: Just Desserts, Gail Simmons announces the prizes for the winner, which includes the “German engineered, sport-injected” Buick Regal.

Okay, so the first part of that description indicates you’re getting an Opel.

The “sport-injected” Buick part? There’s a fucking Tiger Woods joke there somewhere.

    An alternative case:

    1) GM loses money on every volt sold. Toyota still loses money on every prius sold.
    2) GM (and Ford) are going to print money on full size pickups as the economy recovers. The full size Toyota Tundra is a gigantic flop. F-150 and Silverado combined outsell Tundra about 10-1.
    3) The Cruze is going to sell very well. The interior and features for the price leapfrog Corolla and Civic.
    4) Within 5 years, the first mover advantage GM has in China (where Buick is currently the best selling brand) will make their legacy problems in US/Europe seem insignificant.

    Translation? A $100 stock by 2015.
