Top 10 Videogames–Ever

This list leaves something to be desired–particularly the Top 10 slots. I’ll buy Super Mario Bros. at number 1, but the Nintendo 64 bias is a little tough to take. A Legend of Zelda sequel ranked far ahead of Ms. Pac Man? (Heck, Metal Gear Solid ranked above Ms. Pac Man?)

    Civ II tops my list, with both Pirates! and Mario 64 close behind. Pac Man or Ms. Pac-Man has to be on the top ten, as does the game Combat that shipped with most Atari 2600 consoles. (Invisible tanks in the invisible maze with bouncing bullets: Best. Game. Ever. For eight-year-olds anyway.) Also on the top ten should be Spy Hunter and Lode Runner. And does no one remember what a revolution in time-wasting both Myst and the much more satisfying Quake were when they came out? Side question: Madden Football needs to be on the list, but which version? What is the seminal year for Madden?
