If you wanted to have an argument about the greatest women’s player of all time, there are really only three names: Margaret Court, Steffi Graf, and Serena Williams.
But is Serena were to win the Grand Slam this year, would that end the argument? I don’t think so, as of right now, but I’m willing to be convinced.

And if Monica Seles doesn’t get stabbed by Gunter Parche…

I admit to not watching very many of her matches because I dislike her style of play, but Ms. Williams has always seemed to me to be much more of a slammer than player. Maybe as she’s aged she’s developed more dimension to her game, but again I’m afraid I haven’t paid enough attention to her matches to know.

Graf was arguably the most successful athlete in any sport for the better part of a decade.

Martina Navritolova belongs in the conversation (18 singles majors; 31 doubles majors; 10 mixed doubles majors).
