The final Iron Man 3 trailer is pretty boss.
And this movie seems like as much of a sure thing as you’ll find: It follows a terrible let-down sequel and has the insanely underrated Shane Black writing and directing.
Also, GOOP. In a sports bra.
Don’t judge me. We all have our thing.

As if I wasn’t already depressed enough about Pope Benedict’s abdication, George Weigel makes a point that I hadn’t even considered: “I very much doubt that we will see him for a very long time; we may never see him in public again.”
And now that he’s said it, it makes total sense. When Benedict stepped into the helicopter last week, he was almost certainly saying goodbye to his flock in the literal sense.

Matt Yglesias seems to know as much about accounting as he does about demographics. And CGA color adapters. And the history of newspapers. And . . . never mind.

This trailer for Hannibal, which is a Red Dragon prequel, looks uncannily awesome.

I didn’t go to Harvard, so I can’t tell if this unsigned Crimson editorial is a tongue-in-cheek parody, or kind of serious. It has to be a joke, right?
Any Harvard-educated readers–please shed some light.

Steve Sailer has a piece up on the correlation (or causation) between presidential election results in a state and the average number of years that white women in that state (between the ages of 18 and 44) have been married. It’s really interesting.
Even more interesting, though, is that a poli-sci academic, George Hawley, has gone and published a paper extending Sailer’s “Dirt Gap” thesis (which I talk about in What to Expect) to the county level for the 2000 election.

You may, or may not, be able to tell that I slept for about two hours last night before joining MSNBC’s The Cycle to talk about What to Expect.
